Ecological Consulting Services
Aqua-niche offers a comprehensive line of ecological consulting services. Our highly trained and experienced staff provides quality consulting services for reasonable, competitive fees. We are available as a lead consultant, as a sub-consultant to handle specific tasks within a larger study or on a temporary basis to fill out a team for a larger study. Aqua-niche maintains a good working relationship with regulatory agencies and is skilled in conflict resolution. Let us submit a bid on your next project.

Habitat Construction and Landscaping
Environmental services are our specialty and sole concentration. Our experience and training enable us to provide the best quality design, landscaping, and construction services available, and at a reasonable cost. We custom fit our services to project needs such as habitat restoration/creation, aesthetics, water quality, erosion control, and permit requirements. Our use of available and appropriate plant materials from our nursery, including seed, rootstock, plugs, cuttings, bareroot, and containerized plants, can help minimize project costs.
Because we do both design and construction, we are familiar with the problems associated with implementing a project from drawings to actual field construction.
Our training and experience help us make the decisions, during construction, necessary to have a successful project.

Aqua-niche has a mobile landscaping and construction unit. We are available to do projects, and have completed successful projects, throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We offer pre-construction design review and consulting services to review and refine construction plans and coordinate scheduling. We are available for conflict resolution during the design review process to coordinate any needed design changes with agencies and other involved parties. Aqua-niche has the experience and technical skills to help assure that your project will be constructed successfully.
Aqua-niche has relationships with excavation contractors throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We can recommend contractors that have already passed our rigorous requirements for quality and experience in doing this type of work, or we will work closely with your excavation contractor to help get the project completed successfully.
Because we operate our own nursery and plant brokerage, we can supply and install the best quality plant materials available for your project.

The Aqua-niche nursery carries a wide variety of native wetland and upland plant materials. We offer plant material storage and delivery services custom-fit to your project.
We offer trees, shrubs, ferns and herbaceous species native to the Mid-Atlantic region. All species come in a variety of sizes and forms. Most trees and shrubs are available in containers, B&B and bareroot. Herbaceous species are available as plugs, quarts, dormant rootstock / rhizomes / tubers, and in seed mixes, depending on the species.
We eliminate time-consuming research and common errors with detailed storage and installation advice and support, often at no additional charge. Our knowledge of plant propagation and landscaping can help make your project successful.
Custom growing is available for your project. If we don’t have the plants you need in our nursery, we will grow them for you, given enough lead time. We can also help find your plant materials from our extensive nursery network at reasonable brokerage and delivery fees. Advance notice and planning allows us to provide you with more options and better prices.
If the plants that are specified for your project are not available, we can help identify, supply and gain approval for appropriate substitutes.
The lists of plants found in this catalog are not a comprehensive list of our inventory because new species are regularly added to our nursery, including limited quantities of ornamental species (not listed herein). If you need a species not on our list, call and inquire.
Pricing is based upon the quantity, species, type, size, form, delivery location and schedule, availability, and additional services requested. Each project is priced accordingly.

Bareroot = dormant bareroot seedlings or rooted cuttings, available only in spring
B&B = balled and burlapped. Trees and shrubs are dug up while dormant with
rootballs wrapped in burlap. Quantities are limited. Plants must be
ordered by 01 April, and the earlier the better. Trees are available in 5ft. and
6ft. heights and 1”, 1.5”, and 2” caliper. Some larger specimens
are available for some species. Shrubs- 2ft., 3ft., and 4ft. height. Some larger
and multiple stem specimens are available for some species.
Container= plants in plastic pots. Trees and shrubs are available in 1 gal., 2 gal.
and/or larger for some species. Heights range from 1-2 ft., 2-3 ft., 3-4 ft.
and larger. Not all species are available in all sizes. Sold year round.
Cuttings = cuttings of the stems of some woody species harvested while dormant.
Cuttings are used for live applications such as stakes, brush mattresses and
fascines.
Rhizome/rootstock = underground parts of some herbaceous plants collected
while dormant. Available in spring only.

Aqua-niche can handle your wetland mitigation or stream restoration project from start to finish. Services include: site selection, design, permits, excavation and construction, landscaping, and post-construction monitoring reports.
Aqua-niche has a working relationship with excavation contractors and engineering companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We can recommend companies that are experienced in ecological restoration work. These are companies that we have worked with on projects in the past and in which we have a high level of confidence.
Directions to Aqua-niche Nursery and Offices
On PA 850: From Route 15 in Marysville, follow Route 850 west (Valley Street) for 9.9 miles until you reach the Mountain Road / Pine Hill Road intersection. The nursery is on the northeast corner of this intersection. Turn right on Pine Hill Road. The nursery entrance is on the left.
From PA 34: Take PA 34 north from Carlisle into Shermansdale. Turn right onto Route 850 east (Valley Road). Proceed 2.9 miles to the Mountain Road / Pine Hill Road intersection. The nursery is on the northeast corner of this intersection. Turn left on Pine Hill Road. The nursery entrance is on the left.
From I-81: Take the Marysville exit (Route 15 north). In Marysville, turn left onto PA Route 850 west (Valley Street). Follow the instructions for 850 west.
From PA Turnpike: Take the Carlisle Exit 17 and head north on Interstate 81. Follow the directions for I-81.
From US 15: In Marysville, turn onto PA Route 850 west (Valley Street). Follow the directions for PA 850.
Terms and Conditions of Nursery Sales
All nursery orders are COD unless credit arrangements have been made in advance. Credit arrangements are NET 30 days. A finance charge of 1.5% per month will be assessed to all outstanding accounts over 30 days from delivery date. The customer shall be responsible for all collections agency fees, attorneys fees and court costs for unpaid balances. Returned checks fees of $50.00 are applicable.
All prices are quoted subject to change without notice.
All orders are accepted subject to crop failures or other conditions beyond our control.
Custom grown orders require a deposit to be determined based on the order.
All plants are guaranteed true to species and healthy at delivery. Aqua-niche assumes no responsibility beyond the time of delivery. All plants must be inspected and counted by the customer upon delivery. Any claims must be made within 10 days of delivery, in writing and the liability of Aqua-niche shall be replacement of plant materials or refund.
All orders are subject to appropriate sales tax.
